Kevin – Sunday. To review; after yesterday’s ‘living history’ event at Historic Fort Lupton’s Heritage Fair, we were so in need of a good scrubbing that we rented a hotel room for the night, had a wonderfully long, hot shower and headed to bed.
Waking at 6:30 am this morning, we looked at each other and decided to have another long, hot shower before preparing for church. Simply glorious.
Also, to review, as we pulled into the hotel parking lot last night, Denny noticed the trailer lights were not illuminated. It was determined that the electrical plug had fallen out, had dragged on the pavement for a pretty fair distance and was thus rendered useless. Dang. Electrical savvy and skills skipped Kevin’s generation.
For church this morning, we decided to attend the Picadilly Ward on 27th Avenue. We contemplated a later meeting time, but we were glad we got up early enough for the 9 AM meeting.

This was a very friendly congregation. We were engaged almost immediately and people kept coming up to us, welcoming us, and inquiring about us and our reasons for visiting. The meetings were excellent and the Sunday School teacher had a flair for keeping the lesson interesting. Afterwards, he asked if there was anything we needed and Kevin said we had an electrical issue with the trailer. ‘Well,’ he said, ‘This is Gabriel and he’s an electrician.’
Within minutes Gabriel had suggestions on what to purchase to fix the connector, then to simplify things, he ordered the part and most wonderful of all, the part would arrive that evening – not three days later. Gabriel said of the thousands of part orders he’d placed online over the years, same-day delivery had only occurred a very few times.

By 9:00 PM, Gabriel had installed the new plug, tested it and the RV was ready to go again. Thanks Brother Gabriel! May you and your family be blessed for your kindness.
We have parked the RV in a trucker’s overnight parking lot and are getting ready to retire.
