This time a little feller seems to have gotten himself under the stove top – between the stove burners and the top of the oven. I played ‘Whack-a-mouse’ for a few minutes as he’d stick his head out from under a burner. Didn’t work well. He just stayed down below. Hummmm. How to flush him out? Hummmmm. A couple of dangerous and less humane methods involving the oven presented themselves. Discretion overruled.
The traps were set again and placed on top of the stove. For variety and as an experiment, I tried one with peanut butter smeared on the trigger. The rest were set with cheese. Inquiring minds want to know – in case such a problem ever presents itself again. Choosey mice choose (fill in the blank).
Denny and I started reading and remained very still for about 30 minutes, we were startled when one of the traps tripped and that was the end of that mouse. Disposal of the body took place immediately then we returned to cleaning the RV – again. Though the mess wasn’t nearly as bad as with Mouse #1 (I refuse to name them), still I had to take the stove top apart. All those years of putting plastic model airplanes and cars together finally pays off in adult years.

But, for whatever reason(s), this morning did me in. Between the ‘flu-like’ and/or ‘allergic’ symptoms of the past 24 hours, medications and the mornings excitement, I decided to call it a day and retreated to the bed. Denny let me sleep the rest of the day before providing a small evening meal. Then I went back to bed and slept the entire night (I’m writing this later).
Another buffer day in the schedule got trashed – but that’s exactly why we put them in; for the unseen and unpredictable events.
