Kevin – Tuesday. Our morning was spent unpacking the necessaries that didn’t make it into the fridge/freezer last night, putting away our clean (hallelujah!) clothing, some food items, etc.
But the most important thing that kept Denny busy most of the day was a flurry of calls back and forth with various persons involved in the proposed legislation to get the 4-Trails Bill onto the floor of Congress. She is helping where and when she can, primarily offering opinions and suggestions. Others are carrying the ball at this stage of the process.
Stay tuned. Watch this space. Please Stand By.
Seriously, your involvement at some point will go a long way for getting support for adding to the National Historic Trails.
I, on the other hand, was doing some additional research book work on the trail out of Ft Bridger towards the WY-UT border, just a few days in front of us. The end grows ever larger in our eyes.

It was pretty warm today, so with all the distractions we waited until 8 PM to start biking the last 10 miles into Ft Bridger. Lyman, Urie and Ft Bridger have pretty nice bike trails. We were on them almost all the way this evening. The Uintah’s were off to our left (south) and we noted a big set of cliffs at the base of the mountains. We hadn’t seen those before.
Nature-wise, I heard a red-winged blackbird, a marsh dweller. Denny rode past the herd of bison (buffalo), the first she had noticed on the trip. The west wind was fairly gentle, not too hard, but I really need to put lube on my chain. I had power washed both bikes while in Utah to remove all the dusty crud on the chains and gears, but had forgotten to reoil them. Not easy to pedal today.
